My friend Kenny Gregg put on a great webinar the other night with David Wood and Jim Chao talking about Viral Marketing. You should be using Viral Marketing strategies in your network marketing business to increase traffic and lead generation. If you get a chance to watch their webinar do it. Kenny Gregg goes over 5 SEO mistakes most people are making on their webpage, article and in blog posts. Are you?

1. Keyword stuffing. The concept here is if a few keywords are good then a lot must be better. You cold not be further from the truth. Google has formulas that gauge when keywords are being used too much. It is called keyword density. When Google’s formula says there are too many they will penalize you. Not only does it make for some bad content you will not rank for the any of the keywords with that content.
2. Missing keywords. Your keywords must show up in the important areas that Google and other search engines are looking for. The title of the article is a very important one. If you do not have your keyword in the title of your blog post, article title or video then Google will not know what you are trying to rank for. You want to make it easy by being clear on what you are offering to the search engines.
3. Missing Description. There are tags behind the senses that are working with the search engines. You want to control what the description tag is saying about your article, post, etc. The description tag is the little description about every result on a search engine. It is under the title link on the page. If you do not provide a description tag the search engine will make one for you. You want to create it because it will allow you to provide your keywords in the description tag.
4. No SEO relevancy. All the aspects of your content and tags should be working together to help the search engines. The title tag, description tag, and article title should all have the same keywords that you are trying to rank for. Your blog title should not just be a random name but a money keyword that you will rank in the search engines.
5. No Title tag. This is mentioned in the paragraph above but bears repeating. Your page or post should have a title tag. The title tag is the words that show up on the top of the webpage. You want that title that shows up in the browser to have a keyword in it. If you do not provide a title tag, the search engine will repeat the blog or webpage title and it may not be a keyword. Which after reading this article it should.

Go and look at your blog, Wordpress makes this incredibly easy, and look for the 5 SEO mistakes Kenny Gregg talks about. It will make your blog more visible and easier for the search engines to find you and rank your content. This will ultimately drive more traffic and get you more leads for your network marketing business.

You need a blog. You read that everywhere, but how does a blog help you with lead generation with your network marketing business opportunity? You need to get your message about your opportunity in front of the reader. Placing links, opt-in forms, videos and an author’s resource box in the body of the post are just 4 way you can place your message in front of the reader and give them a chance to sign up for your online business opportunity.

1. Add links in the body of your content. Adding a link to the content is an easy matter of selecting the button that looks like a link of a chain. Select the text you want to link to select the button and a popup screen will allow you to link a URL to the text. It will also have the option of opening the reference page in the current window or a new window. Always select the new window encase the reader closes the window after reading the information they can come back to your post. You can reference various services your online business opportunity may provide that the reader may be want to learn more about. This will increase exposure of your opportunity and drive traffic to your site.
2. Provide an opt-in form in the post itself. A place for your readers and visitors to opt-in on your blog is always a good idea, but you can also add a specific opt-in form within the body of the post itself. This is putting the form right in front of the reader. Again this increases exposures and will increase leads. If you are providing good and helpful information then you will develop a relationship with your reader and having the opt-in form in the body of the post will provide a chance for the reader to join your list and learn more about your opportunity.
3. Add a video on your site. Your written content can be very good and communicate your information well. But nothing works as well as combining it with video. Studies have shown that retention levels increase when you combine multiple forms of information. By providing videos right in your posts you have written, audio and visual forms of communication. The video can show you explaining the post in more detail that 500 words could. A short (1 to 2 minute) video can increase the readers’ retention and your relationship with the reader.
4. Add an author’s resource box at bottom. Just like the author’s resource box on your articles, add one at the end of the blog post. Make the paragraph about you fit the post you are writing about. The resource area should provide a link to your online business opportunity and provide the final pus for the reader to visit your website. As with all of your content there should be a compelling reason to visit your site and a call to action. What benefit does the reader get if they pick the link.

Your blog, while delivery good content, should also provide a chance for the reader to join your online business opportunity. By adding links, opt-in forms, videos and author’s resource box in the body of the post you will put your message in front of the reader and will increase your lead generation. Just by giving them an opportunity to join you will increase your traffic.

Last week I was in Las Vegas for CarbonCopyPro’s Master Marketing Event. 1400 other entrepreneurs were there to learn the latest from CCPro. We saw the introduction of InsideOut II, the redesigned BIB (now called the Black Box) and heard from the founders on their vision for the company. We heard from some fantastic speaker talking about video marketing, new Google policies and the formula to succeed in this business.

Video is king and distribution can boost your exposure. Mike Koenigs from Traffic Geyser talked about video marketing. Video is more important today than it ever was. You need to get over your shyness about being in front of the camera and start sharing what you know. You do not have to worry about the quality of the video just point and shoot. Some key points Mike had were: 1) be yourself. You will look at a lot of videos on the Internet that are very good and you will be tempted to try and copy the style, don’t. Be natural and speak from the heart with passion. That will come through on the video and touch your audience: 2) Deliver good content not a commercial. There are commercial all over the Internet you do not need to add to the noise. Work on delivering good information to your audience without any expectation of a return: 3) Let your audience know about you. Let them know who you are; what you are and what you know, how to find you and contact you. Your story is your biggest asset and everyone loves a good story.

Google has changed again and you need to change with it before you are suspended. At the start of the CarbonCopyPro’s Master Marketing Event there was a lot of talk about Google and suspensions. Evidently Google is enforcing the FTC’s new policy rigorously. Several people who had company duplicated websites that were used in their Google Adword’s account had their accounts suspended for grievous policy violation was the emails that some of the members got. We must change. You landing page that is connected to a Adwords account must be your own page with no ties to your MLM company.

Beating the MLM marketing odds requires a simple formula. Vision + Faith + H.O.P.E. = “Beating The Odds” Karen Theresa and her son Russ Levanway spoke who you need to have all three elements to succeed. H.O.P.E. stands for Having an Overcomers Perspective on Everything. Nothing that is in your way will stop you. Mark, became deaf during childhood, went on to be a public speaker though he could not hear his own voice. There are hurdles in everyone’s life. How you approach those hurdles will define your and your success.
CarbonCopyPro’s Master Marketing Event was a fantastic opportunity to get away from the office and network with other Entrepreneurs in Las Vegas. Excellent speakers on topically subjects make the event well worth the time and money spent. The action plan now is implementing the new ideas in video marketing, Google Adwords and new perspective and vision on my business.

Getting ranked on the 1st page is every the goal of every online marketer.  Article marketing can be one path to get you there.  Lets go through an easy 3-step process using articles to help you rank on the 1st page of Google.

1. Keyword research is the starting point.  You want to make it easy for Google to find you and use a keyword that everyone is using in his or her search.  There is no reason to write an article on a subject that no one is looking for.  The great thing about the Internet is that the information about what people are looking for is right there for you to find.  You can use several keyword research tools both paid and free.  Google keyword search tool is very good and free (we like that).  Just put the search term you are thinking of basing you article on.  For example you could put in “MLM Training” and Google will give you all the keywords that have been search that have MLM Training in it and will rank them.  Google will also give you additional keywords to consider.  The longer the keyword the more specific the keyword and the search being done by the end user and the easier it will be to rank for that keyword.  As you get more specific you narrow your target audience and the competition become less crowded.
2. Now that you have your keyword you want to create content around the keyword.  Write your article focusing on three main ideas.  You want to have the keyword in the title, in the first three lines of the first paragraph and near the bottom of the article.  Do not stuff the keyword everywhere.  Google has algorithms that will look at content and how many a time a keyword shows up in any content also known as keyword density.  If your keyword density is too high they will penalize your article.  Your keyword should not show up more than 4 to 6 times in your article.  Of course you want to the article interesting and informative because the ultimate goal is to show the reader your expertise and have them go to website to learn about you and your offer.
3. Publish it everywhere.  There are several articles directories that you want to publish it on, Ezinearticle and Article Base to name just two.  Do a search for article directories for a complete list of article directories.  You can also use it on your blog.  You have spent time putting this content together so use it in as many places as your can.  A fantastic idea is to make a short video about your article and post it on YouTube channel.  You can announce it on your Facebook page and in forums.  The wide the audience the more likely Google and others will notice you.  Attracting leads to you is the name of the game.

A easy 3-step process to help you rank on the first page of Google.  Begin with good keywords that people are using in their searches, include those keywords in your article, especially the title and publish it everywhere you can.  Don’t let your writing skills stop you form writing article.  It is a skill that you will improve upon over time.  As they say at Nike: “Just Do It”.

There are thousands of MLM and Network marketing companies in the world today.  Which one should you pick?  Here are 3 key elements that a MLM Company should provide a sponsored rep that you should look for.  The company should provide a funded proposal that will fund your marketing strategies and multiple streams of income.  The company should provide on going marketing training in both offline and online strategies.  The company should have a complete system that new recruits can use to duplicate your success.

1. It is important to have a funded proposal.  Money is required to keep your marketing running and funded proposal will do just that.  A funded proposal is a product or service that your customer buys that will provide immediate cash to fund your marketing operation.  You are creating a business that needs to sustain itself before you can grow.  Does your MLM Company provide source of income that will pay for your marketing and fuel your growth.  Most have a marketing kit that is purchased by the new recruit.  While this initial purchase will fund your marketing of your business it is the continued purchases and growth of your customer base or sponsored rep that will grow your business.  You also need multiple streams of income.  A $100 monthly purchase will require a lot of people buying month in and month out to sustain your business and your income.  Your company should have additional product and services that a customer can purchase that will provide an on going revenue stream.  Look for not only the main product but also additional products and services that will generate more revenue for your business.
2. Having money for the marketing side of your operation is very important, but training on types of marketing is even more important.  Your MLM Company should provide marketing training not only on the product but also on types of marketing.  The different marketing strategies should vary enough for all marketing budgets.  Of course “belly to belly” is the traditional marketing method, such as talking to everyone with in 3 feet of you and is the first strategy you will hear.  That’s because it has been taught for decades and it works.  But in today’s Internet world there are other marketing strategies that can be used to attract people who are ready to buy your opportunity.  You can do everything from free online classified ads to Google Adwords. All of these strategies have steps and procedures that need to be learned to use them effectively. Does the company provide this training?
3. The entire system needs to be duplicable.  You will spend quite a bit of your time talking to leads about your product and opportunity.  But you will also spend time talking to your new sponsors and recruits.  Encouraging them in there business.  While this is important, you do not want to change your business from the products or services you are selling to a training company.  Your MLM Company should provide a complete duplicatable system that people you sign up can follow.  There should be systems, audio and videos, in place to guide the person on how to set-up their website, autoresponder, etc.  There is plenty of work to be done to start a business and while you want to help them get started you are trying to grow your business also.  There should be systems in place that walk them through all aspects of their business and set-up.  Your job is to support them and guide them not provide this initial training.  It would become overwhelming over time.

Three important factors when considering a MLM Business has nothing to do with the product or services.  Does this company provide not only a funded proposal but multiple streams of income; do they provide continue marketing training both offline and online; is their system duplicatable so others can used to get the same results as you without constant hand holding.  If you find a company that provides all these elements you have a MLM Company that is truly looking out for your interest and continued success.
